• How long is a dog kept at the Shelter?
  

  By law we are required to keep all stray dogs for 4 business days so the owner's have a chance to reclaim their dog. It ends up being in the Shelter for approximately a week if not reclaimed. After that time the dog is available for adoption, rescue or transfer. It depends on space availability and how well the dog is doing how much longer the dog is kept at the Shelter. If the dog is not reclaimed, adopted, rescued or transferred it may be euthanized.
