• Dog Licenses: How, Where and When to get a dog license?
  

  It has been a State Law since 1919 and Branch County Ordinance (#7 Section 8.1) that ALL dogs have to be licensed within 30 days of turning 4 months old or within 30 days of acquiring a new dog.
  
  Licenses can be purchased at the Treasurer's Office inside the Branch County Courthouse in Coldwater and/or at the Branch County Animal Control Shelter at 168 S Ray Quincy Rd in Quincy. The Treasurer's Office is open Monday thru Friday from 8am-12pm and 1pm-5pm. Animal Control is open Monday and Friday from 9am-1pm and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am-5pm.
  
  A current rabies certificate is needed to purchase a dog license. Licenses go on sale every year on December 1^st. They can be purchased for the regular prices thru March 1^st. However, dog licenses expire on December 31^st each year. You can be ticketed for an unlicensed dog after that date if you have not purchased a new one. The cost for dog licenses are:
  Senior Citizen (55 or older) altered dog license $8.00
  Altered dog license $10.00
  Unaltered dog license $20.00
  Delinquent dog license (after March 1^st) $40.00
  Tag Replacement Fee $1.00
  No Charge for Certified Service Dog or Law Enforcement Dog (must have a current license as there are No Exemptions in the law for any dogs)
  July 11^th Licenses are 1/2 price for New Dogs
